The midfielder is reported to have made the list of 80 possible members of the 18-man squad, yet the news is not said to be so good for Arsenal starlet Jack Wilshere.David Beckham has made Stuart Pearce’s latest list of potential squad members for Team GB at the 2012 Olympics, according to The Daily Mirror.Pearce is said to have a drawn up a list of 80 players, with Beckham joined on the list by the likes of Craig Bellamy and Joe Cole.Other players said to be in contention for the three over-23 selections include the likes of Gareth Bale, Chris Brunt and Steven Fletcher.Meanwhile, Crystal Palace’s Nathaniel Clyne, on-loan Chelsea man Josh McEachran and highly-rated Birmingham shot-stopper Jack Butland are also said to be in Pearce’s radar.However, the news is not so good for injured Arsenal man Jack Wilshere. The 20-year-old had been harbouring hopes of playing in the Olympics, but on Monday Arsene Wenger ruled him out of contention for England’s Euro 2012 squad, and stated that playing in the Olympics would be \"the worst possible idea for him\".With the Olympics set to kick-off in late July, Wenger is also said to have urged Aaron Ramsey, Kieran Gibbs and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain to prioritise Arsenal’s pre-season tour of the Far East over an Olympic spot.
