“The Big Brother” is the leader of the ruling party in George Orwell’s 1984. In his novel, Orwell foresaw the establishment of the Soviet Union and spoke about the future in a country called Oceania ruled by one party with a totalitarian ideology. The novel was a best seller when it was first published and also in 1984, the year that Orwell chose to set his plot by flipping the numbers of the year when he actually wrote the book, i.e. 1948 (it was published in 1949.) The socialist structure fell and so did its parties. However, the ministries that Orwell tackled in his novel are probably still present in this or that country under different names. For instance, the Ministry of Peace is actually a ministry of war such as the case of Israel today, which also includes the so-called “army of defense.” There is also the Ministry of Love where people are actually tortured. This ministry is present in Switzerland but not in our region (where people chant for the leaders in order to survive). There is also the Ministry of Plenty, i.e. the ministry of rations, which is the case of Lichtenstein where hunger and poverty strive; and the Ministry of Truth, i.e. the ministry of propaganda, which is equivalent to the Swedish ministry of information if present rather than any Arab ministry of information. The above is an introduction to my saying that, in my family, I am the “Big Brother” because I am the oldest son. Thus, I ordered my two brothers, my sister and their children – who all have the American nationality – to vote for Barack Obama for president. If the democratic president was to win with a difference of 20 votes in the states where my family lives, I will be able to personally claim, or the Khazen family at home and in the Diaspora, will be able to claim that they settled the outcome of the American elections. They can thus expect the returning president to appoint them in high posts in his Administration such as the post of the Federal Reserve Chairman (the Central Bank), and the Undersecretary of the State Department, and the Deputy head of the National Security Council to the Middle East. I am kidding concerning the posts, but all that I wrote before that is true. My family did vote for Obama four years ago and they will be voting for him again on November 6. All my phone calls and orders aimed at guaranteeing that no errant brother or son will come to power. Do my orders to my family represent a kind of interference in the USA’s internal affairs? I have an excuse: I hold the British nationality and America was a former colony of my country. In addition, I am only interfering for a single reason: the USA is a major country with internal and external policies, alliances, and socioeconomic and environmental politics. I do not oppose any of the USA’s policies and I am even ready to support all its politics. My only objection is to the American politics in the Middle East but not in Africa, the Southern Sahara, Latin America, or the Far East. This is the reason why I prefer Obama over Romney. If the former was to obtain a second term, he will be practicing politics that are reflective of his 2009 speech in the University of Cairo. The latter will be practicing politics based on his friendship with the war criminal impostor, Benjamin Netanyahu, and his need to pay back the donations of the Israeli lobby and the pro Likud Jewish American billionaires who supported his electoral campaign. The American voters oppose Romney for other reasons. I will be exposing below some selected anecdotes about Romney and Paul Ryan, who is the nominee for the post of vice president. These anecdotes are actually at the heart of the issue but they might put a smile on the face of the Arab readers. Romney promised that he will be creating 12,000,000 jobs. So the question on whether he will create these jobs in China or India was immediately raised. This is because most of his business is outsourced. And since he is accused of representing the rich people with a personal wealth amounting to half a billion dollars, he selected Paul Ryan for vice president. Ryan’s and his wife’s tax papers showed that they made an income of 323,000 dollars last year. So Romney was like: Do you see now that I do sympathize with the poor? Some said that Romney should have selected Sarah Palin for the post of vice president since she cannot answer any questions while he has two answers for every question. This is a reference to his constant change of positions and to the fact that he tells the listeners what they like to hear. I like to hear that Romney lost the presidential elections. His politics will be a disaster for America and for us. The “Big Brother” that George Orwell warned about left with the fall of the Soviet Union but I stayed here to lead the family’s campaign in support of Obama winning a second term with no pressure from the Israeli devil so that we can ask him to implement his Cairo speech.
