The present American politics in the Middle East oppose the American as well as the Arab interests. This isn’t my final say about the Obama Administration as I still hope that the president might modify his politics. So far however, the neo-conservatives, i.e. the killers of Arabs and Muslims, are proceeding with their masked politics. We were supposed to observe American politics concerning Syria, but there are no politics except for the provision of non-military aid while the number of victims has exceeded 100,000. In Iraq, the Americans allowed a pro-Iran prime minister to access power, and even helped him do that. As a result, the Syrian regime is now openly receiving Iranian aid by land and by air. In Egypt, the American Administration realizes that the Muslim Brotherhood (MB) are trying to establish their train of thought in Egypt and destroy the remaining part of the independent judiciary system. However, the US is supporting the MB regime as long as it maintains the peace treaty with Israel. Even in the small state of Bahrain, the American Administration is pressuring the cabinet to negotiate with Iran’s agents who are trying to establish a vilayat-e Faqih rule in order to turn a flourishing country into another Iran. These can’t be the politics of a man who made the Cairo speech in 2007 and who promised to extend a friendly hand to the Muslims. All the hopes that we had thus fell. I would probably have not written this column if it wasn’t for the last weapons’ deal between the USA, Israel, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates. The value of the deal amounted to ten billion dollars, and Israel got all that it wanted out of it while Saudi Arabia and the UAE did not get a fair deal. This is although Saudi Arabia can actually break the American and international economy by using oil, while the UAE is America’s closest ally in the entire region. The American Minister of Defense, Chuck Hagel, went to Israel with all kinds of gifts including missiles, radars, and V22-Osprey aircrafts, in order to allow Israel to reach the Iranian nuclear facilities. On top of that, Hagel announced that Israel does not need America’s permission to attack Iran and he vowed to support such an action. Israel can definitely use the old and new American weapons against the Arabs. On the other hand, Saudi Arabia and the UAE did not obtain the advanced JM-158 missiles that they had asked for. In other words, KSA and the UAE obtained missiles that the USA had previously been selling while Israel obtained state of the art aircrafts. To have a full picture, one must remember that the American siding by a new-Nazi, racist country – and a country that is carrying out its crimes through American weapons and funds under the resolution of the Foreign Affairs Committee in the Senate – implies that the USA will be standing by Israel’s side if the latter had to take some “legitimate measures” to defend itself against the Iranian threat. Not only are American politics, including Barack Obama’s no-politics or the Israeli Congress-supported politics, harming Arabs and Muslims, but they are also adversely affecting the American interests, as it seems that the Congressmen give more weight to the Israeli interests. I will not be discussing history or geography. I will just mention a piece of news about the young Chechen terrorist who remained alive and who replied to the investigators’ questions in writing since he lost the ability to speak after sustaining a neck injury from a bullet that he probably fired himself. One of the first things that the man wrote was that the reason for the terrorist attack consists of the American attacks in Afghanistan and Iraq. American politics vis-à-vis Arabs and Muslims constitutes a recruitment office for terrorists around the world. As long as American politics remains hostile to Muslims, there will always be terrorists and misguided young people who will attack America and its interests everywhere. I still hope that Americans realize that their politics in the Middle East are working against them. khazen@alhayat.com
