Emirates SkyCargo, the freight division of Emirates Airline, on Tuesday announced the beginning of weekly freighter flights to Luxembourg as part of an operational partnership with Luxembourg-based Cargolux Airlines.
The first Boeing 777 freighter from Dubai World Central arrived in Luxembourg yesterday, Monday, marking the start of a service that will offer 100 tonnes of cargo capacity, Emirates SkyCargo said in statement.
The deal between Cargolux and Emirates SkyCargo, signed in May, allows customers of both carriers to access their respective destinations and services.
Cargolux operates a three times weekly service to Dubai World Central.
Emirates SkyCargo said ground handling of its freighters in Luxembourg would be carried out in the Cargolux facility and vice versa for Cargolux freighters in Dubai allowing the transfer of cargo.
