A worker is standing trial in the Court of First Instance on the charge of molesting an 11-year-old boy at the entrance of the building where he stayed.
The 28-year-old Pakistani worker is accused of touching the boy in a wrong way and kissing him against his will.
The boy was going home alone when he met the accused on April 29 at the building in Al Rafaa. The accused pleaded not guilty to the charge when he appeared in court.
"I was at home around 11:45am when my son came with a look of fear and unease on his face."
"He told me he was walking home when he noticed a man watching and following him but he did not worry about it," the boy's father, a 44-year-old Indian manager, told the prosecutor.
"My son was, however, surprised to see the same man in the entrance of our building. The man grabbed him by his shoulder and made him face him. He then kissed him on the cheek and left the place."
The complainant then went with son down the building and requested from the watchman to check the surveillance camera recordings.
The boy identified the accused in the footage as the one who kissed him.
During interrogation, the accused admitted he touched the boy inappropriately and kissed him against his will.
The boy told the investigators: "I first thought that man was a resident there. It was the first time it ever happened to me. I got real shocked I could not even scream." He identified the accused among other suspects at Al Rafaa police station.
