The UAE Armed Forces are a mighty fortress and bulwark protecting the Union and its gains, security and stability thus enabling and safeguarding continued economic and social development while also promoting humanitarian values and the principles of peace, tolerance and co-existence, and working to build a promising future for the young generation, said Dr. Sultan bin Ahmad Sultan Al Jaber, today, in a statement on occasion of the 41st anniversary of the Unification of the UAE Armed Forces, celebrated on 6th of May every year.
"The unification of the Armed Forces added another block to further underpin the Union and supports the journey of modernisation and development," he added while highlighting that the occasion was a paradigm addition to the journey of the Union.
The unification, he added, was a pillar for the founding fathers of the UAE who sought to build a modern, safe and stable state, and reflects a forward-looking vision revolving around uniting people in protecting the gains and achievements of this united state.
This state, Al Jaber explained, was achieved, through the creation of a highly-qualified army that meets the highest international standards.
"Under the leadership of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and thanks to the directives of Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, and His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, and their brethren Their Highnesses the Supreme Council Members and Rulers of the Emirates, our armed forces continue to play their role and shoulder the responsibility of protecting the homeland and offer the highest sacrifices, thus remaining a source of pride and dignity for the UAE and its people," Al Jaber said.
The UAE servicepeople, Al Jaber further noted, continue to present a role model of patriotism and loyalty to the country and the leadership through sacrifices and generous giving to keep the flag of their country flying high in the line of duty.
