The Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation has inaugurated the Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Hospital, built at the cost of AED23 million in the Seychelles.
This follows the directives of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan and His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, to deliver humanitarian and development aid to the Republic of Seychelles and support the health sector in the country, and the support of H.H. Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs and Chairman of the Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation.
Mohammed Haji Al Khouri, Director-General of the Foundation, Ahmed Saeed Al Neyadi, UAE Charge d'affaires in Seychelles, Jean-Paul Adam, Minister of Health in Seychelles, and officials from the Seychelles attended the opening ceremony.
The ceremony began with the unveiling of a commemorative painting. Those present praised President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa for his generosity, which comes during the Year of Giving as part of the humanitarian aid initiatives by the UAE in many countries around the world.
An official source from the Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation said that the initial idea to build the hospital came in coordination with the Ministry of Health and Planning in the Seychelles to gauge the health needs of the country.
A number of officials in Seychelles expressed their gratitude to President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa and His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed for supporting the country with their generous humanitarian initiatives.
