Saudi Arabia has denied rumors of Qatari national being barred from entering the holy city of Makkah.
"The pilgrims who are our Qatari brothers are in the hearts of their Saudi brethren from the moment they enter the kingdom and until they depart. Since last Sunday, the kingdom received 1,633 Qatari pilgrims who have performed their Umrah," the General Presidency of the Two Holy Mosques said in a statement published on their website.
"This is after the slander of some social media sites that the Kingdom is insulting their fellow pilgrims from the State of Qatar. The Presidency affirmed that the Qataris perform their rituals and worship at the Holy Mosque with all ease, ease and confidence, and benefit from all the services provided by the Government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in the two holy mosques to them and others. The media calls for the Secretariat and accuracy in the dissemination of news and ensure the competent authorities before publication," the statement adds.
