NAMA Center, one of Qatar Foundation for Social Work’s (QFSW) affiliated Centers and one of the leading developmental institutions in the country with the mission to empower youth and expand their opportunities, is launching the Souq Nama 2017, which runs from November 13 to 18 at Doha Festival City (DFC).
NAMA’s mission is centered on motivating youth with promising potential to excel in various fields and disciplines, as there are many opportunities for them to realize their ambitions and aspirations to develop themselves and their community.
Acting Executive Manager of NAMA Center, Maryam Abdullatif Al Mannai, said supporting entrepreneurship in all its categories is a general approach to the State of Qatar in all its institutions, as it has provided several platforms to highlight and promote entrepreneurship projects, explaining that this exhibition is one of the series of exhibitions organized by NAMA Center on a regular basis for small and micro enterprises.
She praised the role of NAMA Center in helping entrepreneurs to promote and diversify their projects through the “Virtual Incubation “, which offers the microenterprises in their beginning , starting from the idea , to the training, presentation, and offering a specialized courses for marketing and pricing. She stressed that these efforts reflected on the products of entrepreneurs registered with the Center and became comparable to the major brands in quality and packaging, and most of the domestic projects began to take their way to the markets and extracted their owners of commercial records.
Al Mannai explained that the spread of exhibitions and promotional markets for SMEs, which is the biggest supporter of any economy comes in conjunction with the World Entrepreneurship Week, affirming in this regard Qatar’s support for entrepreneurship in its various categories through the establishment of permanent markets for these types of projects in Al Wakra and Souq Waqif, and mobile exhibitions in various places of the country, indicating that the client now prefers the arrival of the product in its place of existence, either in commercial complexes or in public parks.
Acting Executive Manager of NAMA Center, Al Mannai added that the strategic direction of the Center is to invest in the energies of youth and stimulate their aspirations and develop their quality capabilities through a range of selected programs.
The Center is also committed to achieving a number of objectives which are; to support outstanding efforts and initiatives that help shed more light on the status of entrepreneurial projects in Qatar, introduce them to the community, and raise awareness about the exceptional services that the Center offers to innovative entrepreneurs of all nationalities in the country, in addition to providing them with direct access to the local market to promote and sell their products, she added.
Since 2013, the center has been working under the umbrella of Qatar Foundation for Social Work (QFSW). NAMA is a member of the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC), and the Arab Network for NGOs, and the World Family Organization (WFO)
