The committee on the promotion of sporting facilities and events security at the Ministry of Interior has discussed the clauses of Federal Law No.8 (2014) and its executive regulations on sporting facilities and events security in the UAE during this sporting season.
The committee held its meeting, chaired by Brigadier Faris Al Farisi, Director-General of Central Operations at the Ministry of Interior and Chairman of the Committee, at the headquarters of the General Administration of Central Operations, in the presence of Waleed Ibrahim Al Hosni, Acting Executive Director of the UAE Pro League.
During the meeting, they discussed several issues, including the co-ordination of regulatory procedures related to the safety and security of UAE Pro League competitions during the 2017/2018 season, and the role of police departments and the UAE Pro League Committee and sporting clubs in the security of the games, as well as in maintaining public safety.
The meeting discussed the need to hire security officers for sports facilities, and their duties and responsibilities in ensuring security during the games. The meeting also deliberated on the role of private security firms in obtaining licences, training the security personnel, and enforcing the law and regulations, as well as initiating legal procedures against those violating the public law.
