Jordan on Tuesday congratulated the Iraqi government over the “important strategic victory ” achieved against the terrorist organization Daesh in the city of Mosul.
Iraqi forces, supported by the Global Coalition against Daesh, had launched an offensive to drive out the terror group out of the northern Iraqi city.
State Minister for Media Affairs, Mohammad Momani, said: “liberating Mosul is a victory for humanity over the forces of terrorism and evil”, adding that it is a model of will set by those who sacrifice their lives to defeat terrorism.
“The victory is a critical and decisive stage for the Iraqi, Arab and international efforts to ward off terrorism which should be continued to uproot terrorism represented Daesh”, said the minister.
Momani, who is also the government spokesman, congratulated the government and the people of Iraq on the “historic achievement”, praising the ultimate sacrifices given by “our Iraqi brethren” in their confrontation with criminal gangs.
He also paid tribute to the martyrs who sacrificed their lives to thwart forces of evil, commending at the same time, efforts of the anti-Daesh Global Coalition.
“The scale of hatred, killing and destruction practiced by this terror gang reaffirms the importance of unifying global efforts to defeat it”, Momani said.
He also spoke of the destruction of Mosul’s historic monuments, expressing hope for the return of the refugees and displaced persons to the city.
The minister also voice hope to liberate the Syrian city Raqqa and the all other places under the control of the terror group, adding that this victory is a clear message to all terrorists in the world that peace-loving nations stand united against terrorism .
