The Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation and al-Orman Association, have distributed 35,000 food cartons to underprivileged segments at villages in Egypt's governorates.
The move follows the directives of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces.
Major General Mamdouh Shaaban, Director-General of al-Orman Association, said that the cooperation with the Khalifa Foundation in the distribution of Ramadan food rations, was preceded by a great cooperation aimed at providing charitable services to improve the living conditions of those categories of people. They include the micro development projects such as heads of cattle, grocery stalls and others for the needy families, he added.
Major General Shaaban noted that dozens of dilapidated homes have also been reconstructed, whether by rebuilding the entire house or roof, delivering electricity or clean water, as well as providing the needs of the poorest villages as much as possible.
