The Ministry of Foreign and Expatriate Affairs has handed the Israeli government the investigation file of the Israeli embassy incident, which resulted in the death of two Jordanian citizens by an embassy security guard.
Jordan asked the guard to be prosecuted as per Article 31 of Vienna Convention on diplomatic ties for the crimes he committed.
Earlier, the ministry received the case file from Ministry of Justice after being completed by the Public Prosecution.
Attorney General Akram Masaadeh said the Public Prosecution has completed the investigation into Sunday’s incident in which 17-year old Mohammad Jawawdeh and Bashar Hamarneh were killed.
The Israeli embassy guard has been charged with two counts of murder and for bearing an unlicensed weapon. He told Petra that embassy employee enjoyed diplomatic immunity, but added that this would not prevent him being charged and standing trial in Israel.
