The Emirates Autism Society, EAS, has organised an autism-related charity function at the Ajman Youth Centre, in the presence by Dr. Khawla Al Saeedi, EAS CEO, and children with autism and their families.
The initiative, dubbed "Charity Majlis and Exhibition" involves hosting of monthly forums nationwide to bring together parents and people suffering from and interested in autism, with the objective of providing moral and psychological support and meeting their needs, consequently helping in planning the society’s programmes accordingly, said Dr. Al Saeedi.
The initiative also aims to raise awareness about autism in the society, promote communications between parties concerned, and brief them on the society’s goals and strategies, she added.
During the exhibition, local families donated toys and educational tools for autistic children, to chip in reducing their financial burdens, she noted.
Ahmed Al Raiesy, Director of the Ajman Youth Council, praised the efforts made by the EAS to promote awareness about the suffering of people with autism.
