Companies organising conferences, seminars, training, events and lectures should apply for proper approvals from competent authorities at least three months before holding any events, the Ministry of Commerce and Industry said.
“The Ministry of Commerce and Industry has observed that some of the establishments are holding events without obtaining the required approvals. Thus the Ministry urges all to submit their application to the Ministry not less than three months prior to the date of the event,” it said.
In the application, the companies should also include the titles of the topics to be discussed, the names of the local and foreign speakers, the location and duration of the event, so that applications can be considered and required actions can be taken. “The applications that do not meet the requirements or that do not meet the required time for submitting the application will not be considered,” it warned.
Then Ministry also requested the owners and the management of the hotels and halls not to allow any events unless the organisers are authorized by the Ministry or other concerned authorities. “The Ministry, in cooperation with the concerned authorities, shall stop unauthorised events and necessary legal actions shall be taken, without bearing any financial or legal consequences as a result of such actions,” it added.
