Romanian President Klaus Iohannis Tuesday praised the level of Jordanian-Romanian ties, and said the two countries recognised the dangers of terrorism and the importance of concerted world efforts to combat this menace.
The Romanian leader spoke as he welcomed Senate President Faisal Al Fayez, who conveyed to him the good wishes of His Majesty King Abdullah and his keen interest in further cementing ties.
Fayez and an accompanying delegation, also met Romanian Foreign Minister Teodor Melescanu and discussed the current situation in the Middle East and the need to solve regional conflicts, and call on Israel to accept the two-state solution and heed international legitimacy resolutions concerning the Palestinian issue.
Melescanu commended Jordan’s support of international efforts to end the conflicts in the region and provide care to Syrian refugees.
Fayez also met with the heads and members of the Jordanian-Romanian Friendship Committee and the Foreign Affairs Committee at the Romanian Senate and House of Representatives, and discussed the importance of cooperation in fighting terrorism.
They also talked about the scopes of bilateral cooperation in parliamentary, economic and tourism fields. Fayez invited Romanian businessmen to make use of investment facilities and safe environment provided by Jordan’s economy to enhance joint cooperation.
