The Ministry of Economy has discussed potential co-operation and mutual development efforts in Blockchain technology with several US companies working in this field.
The discussion took place when Juma Mohammad Al Keet, Assistant Under-Secretary for the Foreign Commerce Sector at the Ministry of Economy, received a US trade delegation led by Perianne Boring, Director of the Digital Chamber of Commerce in the US, at the ministry’s headquarters in Abu Dhabi.
The meeting was attended by several officials and employees of the ministry while the US delegation included heads of prominent US companies working in financial technologies and blockchain technology, as well as several members of the Digital Chamber of Commerce.
The meeting discussed the current opportunities for mutual co-operation and the possibilities of establishing promising partnerships between companies that specialise in financial services technologies from both countries.
During the meeting, Al Keet presented the UAE’s leading developments in various economic and commercial areas while emphasising its efforts to become a regional centre for many companies and institutions that specialise in related technical areas.
Al Keet also stressed that the UAE is keen to promote its partnerships with international institutions that specialise in this field, to exchange knowledge and keep pace with international developments.
Boring said that she is looking forward to boosting co-operation between US and Emirati companies working in financial services technologies.
She also praised the UAE’s advancement and its success in becoming a leading model of development in the Middle East while having a strong financial market infrastructure, creating numerous opportunities for co-operation and establishing promising partnerships between US companies and their Emirati counterparts.
