Minister of Planning and International Cooperation, Imad Fakhouri, and Director of the Neighboring Countries Department of the European Investment Bank (EIB), Heinz Olbers, On Sunday, signed two grant agreements worth 1.7 million euros.
Under the first grant agreement, Fakhoury said, the EIB will provide technical assistance to Jordan amounting to 714,000 euros to finance a feasibility study for structuring a public-private partnership for Zarqa industrial wastewater treatment plant.
An amendment to the technical advisory agreement for operating the first phase of the Red Sea Dead Sea Water Conveyance Project (Red-Dead) has also been signed to provide an additional grant of €1 million for additional project activities and studies. The first technical grant of the project is € 750,000.
The minister said Jordan cooperation with the EIB is evolving through new projects, voicing appreciation for the bank’s continued support to Jordan and financing of vital projects in important sectors
