His Majesty King Abdullah II on Thursday, received President of Kurdistan Masoud Barzani, who is currently visiting the Kingdom to take part in the World Economic Forum that will be held at the Dead Sea.
During the meeting at Al Husseiniya Palace, the King stressed the strong ties between Jordan and Iraq as well as his keenness to further boost them in the interest of both countries.
The talks focused on means to boost cooperation between Jordan and the Kurdistan region, mainly in the economic and investment fields.
His Majesty affirmed Jordan’s support to efforts that aim at enhancing security and stability in Iraq and achieving political reconciliation among all components of the Iraqi society
The King and Barzani also discussed the latest developments in Iraq and affirmed the need to support efforts to fight and defeat the Daesh terrorist group.
Barzani voiced keenness to forge closer cooperation with Jordan in various domains. He also thanked His Majesty for his supportive stance towards the Iraqi people.
