Rebecca Kadaga, Ugandan Parliament Speaker and the President of the African Geopolitical Group in the Inter-Parliamentary Union, IPU, visited Wahat Al Karama (the Oasis of Dignity) memorial on Wednesday to pay tribute to the Emirati martyrs who made the ultimate sacrifice while serving their nation.
At the memorial, she was welcomed by Sheikh Khalifa bin Tahnoun Al Nahyan, Director of the Martyrs’ Families’ Affairs Office at the Abu Dhabi Crown Prince’s Court.
Kadaga wrote a statement in the guestbook paying tribute to the martyrs and noting that the memorial represents a unique initiative that celebrates Emiratis' heroism.
Leaders, VIPs and senior officials visit Wahat Al Karama because it symbolises the sacrifices made by Emiratis and represents a source of inspiration, Sheikh Tahnoun said while commemorating the occasion.
