Minister of State Dr. Maitha bint Salem Al Shamsi, Advisor for H.H. Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, Chairwoman of the General Women's Union (GWU), Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation (FDF) and President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, has discussed with Khairat Lama Sharif, Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the UAE, ways to strengthen cultural relations between the two countries.
Dr. Al Shamsi welcomed the ambassador and wished him success in his duties in the State, praising the deep relations between the two countries, which witnessed many achievements.
She stressed that the wise leadership of the UAE under the leadership of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, and Their Highnesses the Supreme Council Members and Rulers of the Emirates, are keen to support and strengthen these relations.
The State Minister referred to the role played by H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, in enhancing ties between the two peoples.
During the meeting, Dr. Al Shamsi reviewed the achievements of the Emirati women, and the prominent role of H.H. Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak in empowering and enhancing the role of Emirati women in the society.
Ambassador Sharif praised the achievements made by the UAE in all developmental fields, which strengthened its position regionally and internationally. He also appreciated the role of H.H. Sheikha Fatima in reinforcing women's contributions especially in the economic field, stressing that Kazakhstan is keen to have areas of cooperation between Emirati and Kazakh women on the level of entrepreneurship, culture, and exchange of experiences between the two countries.
The ambassador also handed over to Dr. Al Shamsi an invitation to participate in the international women's conference "Women's role in Future Energy" which begins on 31st August until 1st September, in the framework of the International Astana Expo 2017.
At the end of the meeting, Dr. Al Shamsi thanked the Ambassador of Kazakhstan for his visit, hoping to continue joint cooperation to achieve the common objectives of both countries.
