Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Culture and Knowledge Development, has said that the UAE has become a pioneering model in empowering women, through the wise leadership of the country, as they are the successful development element in the country.
On the occasion of Emirati Women's Day, marked on 28th August, Sheikh Nahyan said, "On the annual celebration of Emirati Women's Day, we congratulate H.H. Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, Chairwoman of the General Women's Union, Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation and President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, and express our profound thanks for her significant role in achieving the leadership and excellence of Emirati women in all fields."
Sheikh Nahyan added that H.H. Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak’s decision to celebrate Emirati Women’s Day, confirms her keenness to honour women for their achievements and ensure they enjoy all the rights guaranteed to them to assure they lead prosperous lives.
He pointed out that Sheikha Fatima extends her encouragement and support to Emirati women through high humanitarian values that embody all initiatives of philanthropy, development and giving, whether in the field of education, health, economic, and volunteerism, among others.
He added that Emirati women now assume a significantly active role in the sustainable development drive and has made full use of the generous support they have been receiving all over the past years from the wise leadership. He also expressed his pride in the vision of H.H. Sheikha Fatima and her pioneering initiatives in removing all social and economic obstacles that prevent women's advancement, and to provide all means to enable them to occupy leadership positions in society.
The Minister of Culture said that this annual celebration is a reflection of the unique and pioneering role of the UAE under the wise leadership of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, and Their Highnesses the Supreme Council Members and Rulers of the Emirates.
