The UAE Embassy in India and the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry, FICCI, attended a charitable ceremony titled, "A Night of Hope," at the Taj Palace in New Delhi.
The event, attended by about 300 sponsors and aimed at supporting children with disabilities, was organised in co-operation with the Dubai's Rashid Centre For Disabled and the Sun Foundation in New Delhi.
The attendees included Sheikh Juma bin Maktoum Al Maktoum, Dr. Ahmed Abdul Rahman Al-Banna, UAE Ambassador to the Republic of India, Shri Swashpawan Singh, Secretary to the Vice-President of India and others.
The event coincided with the "Year of Giving" initiative launched by President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan and the follow-up of Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, to disseminate values of love and charity.
The event also coincides with an announcement made by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum to establish the UAE Soft Power Council, which aims to define a comprehensive strategy to reinforce the country’s position and consolidate its values of respect and appreciation with governments and citizens across the world.
