Manama - Emirates Voice

His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa welcomed the Egyptian President, Abdel-Fattah el-Sisi, and his accompanying delegation, upon their arrival on an official visit to Bahrain.

His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Premier, and ministers also welcomed the Egyptian president.

After a short pause at the Grand Protocol Hall at Al-Sakhir Air Base, the motorcade of HM the King and President el-Sisi headed to Al-Sakhir Palace.
Students from the kingdom’s schools lined up on the sides of the road, waving flags of the two brotherly countries and welcoming the visit of President el-Sisi to Bahrain.

On arrival at Al-Sakhir Palace, an official reception ceremony was held in honour of the Egyptian President, with the artillery firing 21 gunshots to salute the kingdom’s distinguished guest. The national anthems of the two countries were also played.
HM King Hamad and President el-Sisi then inspected the Guard of Honour, whose members lined up to salute them.

The two leaders held a session of talks and reviewed strong fraternal relations, in the presence of HRH the Premier, HRH the Crown Prince and members of the two delegations.

HM the King welcomed President el-Sisi’s visit and hailed Egypt’s firm and steadfast stances and longstanding contribution to Bahrain’s security, stability and development.

He highlighted the period of unrest which was orchestrated by foreign parties to target the security and stability of both countries, hailing the Egyptians for their courage which he said, enabled them to protect their country so as not to fall in the hands of “ignorant and criminal people”.

He hailed the pivotal role played by Egypt which represents a bulwark and support to the Arab and Islamic countries and peoples, including the GCC member states.

HM the King bestowed on President el-Sisi the Shaikh Isa bin Salman Al Khalifa Medal – excellent class, in recognition of his dedicated efforts to consolidate bilateral relations and strengthen joint cooperation.

HM the King hosted a lunch banquet in honour of the Egyptian delegation marking their visit to Bahrain.
