Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Ayman Safadi, late Monday discussed with US envoy to the middle East, Jason Greenblatt, efforts to find a solution to the crisis in the Al-Aqsa Mosque/Al-Haram al-Sharif.
Also on Monday, Safadi stressed over a phone call with his Italian counterpart Angelino Alfano, the need to take immediate steps to stop escalation in Jerusalem, stressing that Israel had to respect the historical and legal status of Islamic holy shrines in Jerusalem and stop its unilateral actions that aim to impose new facts on ground. In their phone call the two ministers warned of the consequences of tension and escalation in the Al-Aqsa Mosque/Al-Haram al-Sharif.
