Dubai Health Authority, DHA, launched the Ataa’ wa Saa’da (Giving and Happiness) initiative, which aims to support patients with limited means in partnership with the private sector.
The initiative was launched in line with President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan's #Year_of_Giving and under the directives of Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum to take part in the initiative.
According to Dr. Marwan Al Mulla, Director of Health Regulation at DHA, the authority has collaborated with 10 private health facilities to provide free treatment to patients with limited means. There is likelihood of more health facilities to join the initiative, bring the total number to 26, he added.
Salim Mohammad Bin Lahij, Head of the Community and Humanitarian Services Office at DHA said that the community and humanitarian services office at DHA has formed criteria and regulation that must be met by patients to make them eligible to receive the free treatment.
