The sixth season of the Qatari Agricultural Product areas (2017/2018) will begin in; Al Mezrouah, Al Khor, Al Dhakira and Al Wakrah, with the participation of 80 Qatari farms in the three areas.
The Ministry of Municipalities and Environment aims to improve local marketing of Qatari agricultural products and provide fresh national products at prices lower than those in the market.
The areas operate on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays from 7:00 am to 5:00 pm, as well as the livestock field and animal feed stores, continue to operate throughout the week during the same times.
The farms are prepared to participate in the Qatari agricultural products areas especially for this season, which will witness a large and distinctive presentation of a wide variety of local Qatari vegetables, including greenhouses and vegetables produced in the form of high quality agricultural crops, as well as Qatari organic vegetables that gain the attention of a large number of consumers due to its high quality and low prices.
Other local agricultural products such as bee honey, fat, milk, eggs and fish will also be provided this season to meet the needs of consumers of high quality Qatari agricultural products and at a much lower price than their counterparts in the market. Some of the participating companies also offer a wide variety of fresh fruit at reasonable prices to serve consumers in the areas.
In the coming days, the Ministry of Municipalities and Environment are preparing for the construction of three new areas for Qatari agricultural products in Al Ruways, Al Sheehaniya, and Al Sailiya. The new areas will witness the participation of 50 Qatari farms, bringing the total number of farms participating in all the areas to 130 Qatari farms. (QNA)
