Dr. Shaikh Saqr bin Salman Al Khalifa, Assistant Undersecretary for Youth Centres and Facilities in the Ministry of Youth and Sports Affairs, Deputy Chairman of the High Organising Committee of the Khalid bin Hamad League for Youth Centres, People with Disabilities and Girls, branded the League as a model for an integrated social and sporting programme.
Dr. Shaikh Saqr added that the continuation of holding the League would further develop the youth and sports sectors in the Kingdom. “The many noble goals that this league set by HH aims to develop the youth and sports movement and to enhance patriotism among the Bahraini people and raise awareness of the importance of sports and promote a culture of giving and volunteering,” HE explained.
Shaikh Saqr bin Salman Al Khalifa appreciated HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa’s directives to approve the registration of unregistered clubs in the Bahrain Football Association (BFA).
“This reflects the interest of HH to give the chance to a vast number of Bahraini youth to participate in this event. Furthermore, this opens the way for the youth who are part of the unregistered clubs of BFA to take part and compete in the League.
This will increase the excitement, eagerness, intensity and competition, and will also open the way to achieve his HH’s vision in this league, which is considered a #Generations_Meeting for #Youth_Girls_People_with_Disabilities,” HE Shaikh Saqr continued.
“We are very pleased with this step and the initiative of HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, who is fully aware of the importance of supporting young people and pushing for an ideal environment for their sports hobbies, especially football, which is one of the most popular local sports.
HH’s initiatives always create an atmosphere of fair competition, enthusiasm and excitement, and push the youth to develop their performances and abilities and push them to unleash their potential. This football event is an opportunity to achieve all the goals set by HH in this sports initiative for youth,” Shaikh Saqr pointed out.
HE added saying that this edition of the League would see the participation of 1180 athletes and administrators representing young people from various cities and villages of the Kingdom.
