The UAE Geographical Society and the Library of Alexandria, have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to strengthen professional cooperation in the field of maps and geographical sciences.
The deal also calls for exchanging books, establishing cooperation on research programmes, organising lectures and conferences, as well as develop training programmes for both parties.
This came during a visit by the UAE Geographical Society headed by Dr. Asma Farraj Al-Ketbi, CEO of Emirates Geographic Society, to the Library of Alexandria.
The UAE delegation was received by Dr. Sherif Riad, Head of the External Relations Sector at the Bibliotheca Alexandrina (Library of Alexandria).
Bibliotheca Alexandrina was reborn in October 2002 to reclaim the mantle of its ancient namesake. It is not just an extraordinarily beautiful building; it is also a vast complex where the arts, history, philosophy, and science come together. Moreover, the myriad activities it offers have made it a place for open discussion, dialogue, and understanding.
