Copenhagen hosts Moroccan Cultural Week scheduled to be held from June 30 until July 9 upon an initiative from the Moroccan-Danish Advisory Council in cooperation with several partners.
Chairperson of the council Al Sayed Al Towemi said that this event, the first of its kind in this Scandinavian country, falls within the framework of the celebration of the 250th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Kingdom of Morocco and the Kingdom of Denmark.
He added, “The event, which will be held at Kongens Naturp, a famous square in the center of the Danish capital, includes a series of activities and performances, ranging from traditional and original costumes, music and folklore, to authentic Moroccan cooking.”
He continued, “Our aim is to help highlight the diversity and richness of Moroccan culture, the radiance of the civilization of the Kingdom, which dates back thousands of years and its ability to adapt to the times, and sharing the flavors and aromas of Moroccan cooking, which is renowned internationally, as well as show the hospitality and friendliness of the Moroccan people.”
The opening ceremony will take place on June 30, as well as the opening of the exhibition in general, with the organization of concerts every two hours during the week, in addition to the exhibition of the Moroccan Caftan on the seventh of July next.
The event is organized by the Moroccan Embassy in Denmark, in partnership with the Moroccan Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Immigration Affairs, the Ministry of Tourism and Air Transport, Handicraft and Social Economy, the Chamber of Handicrafts in Fès-Meknes, Morocco.
