The UAE Ambassador to the UK, Sulaiman Al Mazroui, met yesterday with the British Minister for Investment, Mark Garnier, to discuss the strengthening of UAE-UK economic relations.
The reinforcement of bilateral ties within the broader context of the UK’s current investment environment was a key topic on the agenda, particularly in light of the 25 billion pound sterling (AED125 billion) 2020 target.
UAE flagship investments for 2017 were also discussed, including Masdar’s Hywind Scotland, launched last month in partnership with Statoil for 50 million pound (AED 250 million), and Masdar’s 525 million pound (AED2.625 billion) stake in the upcoming Dudgeon Offshore Windfarm, off the coast of Norfolk.
Both the ambassador and Garnier reiterated their desire to explore trade and economic opportunities further and emphasised the importance of their long-standing partnership.
