A JOD145-million rise in the Kingdom’s imports in the first four months of the current year pushed trade deficit up by 2.4 per cent, according to official figures released on Sunday.
The data by the Department of the Statistics revealed that the total value of the Kingdom’s imports in the January-April period amounted to JOD4.7 billion signaling an increase of 3 per cent compared with the same period of 2016.
The Kingdom’s exports picked up by 2.5 per cent reaching JOD1.31 billion while re-exports jumped by 13.2 per cent to JOD305 million, the data showed.
