Electricity and Water Affairs Minister Dr. Abdulhussain Mirza met Labor and Social Development Minister Jameel Humaidan to examine the future plan for joint work between the Sustainable Energy Unit and the Ministry of Labor and Social Development.
The two ministers thanked and appreciated the wise leadership for their interest, care and support for the projects of the Electricity and Water Authority and the Ministry of Labour and Social Development to provide the best services to citizens. They said the two are keen to continue the process of joint action and implement development plans.
Dr. Mirza and Sustainable Energy Unit officials gave a presentation on the unit, its objectives, plans, regulations and legislation, the latest developments in the implementation of its projects and the role of the Ministry of Labour in supporting it.
The unit was set up in 2014 in co-operation with the United Nations Development Program (UNDP). It aims to promote the use of renewable energy and raise the efficiency of energy use in Bahrain.
Humaidan praised Dr. Mirza’s and all officials of the Sustainable Energy Unit’s efforts in raising awareness about the importance and economic feasibility of benefiting from renewable energy and raising energy efficiency.
The meeting was attended by a number of officials from both ministries.
