Guatemala's congress on Monday voted overwhelmingly to reject a UN-backed request to lift the immunity of President Jimmy Morales in order for him to face a corruption probe over irregular campaign financing.
Only 25 lawmakers voted in favor of the motion to strip Morales of his immunity, far fewer than the 105 needed in the 158-member legislature
