H.H. Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ras al-Khaimah (RAK), honoured two students from the RAK Academy for scoring top marks in the UK-based Cambridge International Examinations, CIE.
Raj Arvind Dhakan, a grade 12 student, topped the examination and secured highest marks in Cambridge advanced level Mathematics test for 2015-2016. He also topped the biology test in the UAE.
Parivash Shams-Abadi, a grade 13 student, was the UAE topper in the Cambridge Design and Technology examination, 2015-2016.
H.H. Sheikh Saud congratulated the duo and wished them more success, and also expressed his pride in the outstanding performances of the Academy students.
''This academic excellence underscores the commitment of the academy management and faculty members to learning and the students’ keenness to score highest marks,'' the RAK Ruler said.
Others present at the event included Youssef El Achkar, Chairman of Ras Al Khaimah Academy’s Board of Governors; Ross Hal, Executive Principal; Ian Campbell, Head Teacher, Secondary School, teachers of Mathematics, Biology, and Design and Technology teachers, and parents of the top students.
Achkar thanked H.H. Sheikh Saud for his support and care for education, adding that the RAK Ruler’s recognition of the students’ achievements would encourage them to achieve more success.
The two students also thanked the RAK Ruler for honouring them.
