With over 200 activities planned, public institutions in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi are taking part in the "Month of Reading" that lays emphasis on building human capital to sustain the comprehensive development being experienced by the UAE.
The move follows the resolution of the Cabinet to March the "Month of Reading" each year, in line with the declaration of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, which made 2016 the "Year of Reading", to consolidate the culture of reading and to prepare capable future leaders.
"The reading month is part of the reading year that was declared in 2016, which saw a quality shift in the concept of reading as it provided a reading atmosphere and boosted social awareness on the importance of reading," said Rawdha Saeed Al Saadi, Director-General of the Office of the Executive Committee, and Abu Dhabi’s representative for implementing the reading law.
