Sheeffah Shiraz

After a gloomy grey few months, that little ray of sunshine has got me all excited for the summer season. And what better way to embrace the warm weather than with a wardrobe makeover - time to peel off those layers and say goodbye to the winter blues. Last season there were so many looks that I could not help but swoon over; from Prada's cute fifties glamour to Louis Vuitton's Broderie anglais attire to Emilio Pucci's use of paisley prints - yes the catwalks were brimming with beautiful and bold looks that made us fall in love with fashion over and over again. Whilst we may be spoilt for choice with all the trends, looks and pieces, there are always some that we personally can never get enough of. So here, I've picked some of my personal Spring/Summer 2013 favourites that I feel should be flaunted in this glorious weather. Print Passion: I have fallen in love with print - floral, animal, stripe, spots or ornate geometrics; this look charmingly conquered the Spring/Summer 2012 catwalks and was no stranger to this year’s runways either. What I adore about this particular trend is the various forms it comes in, where on hand you can opt for subtle, pretty and feminine print designs; you can also on the other go for eccentric, in your face, bright palettes too; all of which will look fabulous. One of my utmost favourites from this season's runway was Louis Vuitton’s head to toe sixties-inspired yellow, black and white checkerboard designs - its intense use of colour gorgeously juxtaposed with over-elaborate design gave it such a retro feel that I could not help but yearn for every look I saw. Blazer Love: One word, obsessed. I feel that blazers are more like an accessory than a piece of clothing; they add that perfect final touch to your look, be it the casual, meeting a best friend for lunch look or to that glamorous evening attire. My most recent fixation is oversized panelled blazers, especially the nude palette range, perfect for my nonchalant fashion days. I've always kept my boyfriend blazers to a subtle tone but recently I've found a likening to bright shades too. This season, take inspiration from Alexander McQueen's sharply-executed jackets like below.   Summer Trousers: Of course, with anything you wear, feeling comfortable should always be the main priority, and hell have pyjamas becoming fashionable taken comfort to a whole new level. My season must-haves are print jersey or chiffon tapered trousers; they come in an array of patterns and colours, look gorgeous with a simple tee, are perfect for the summer season and really, really snug; I definitely recommend a pair. I loved Chanel's Spring/Summer 2013 collection, and trousers were definitely on their top list. Maxi Level: No summer wardrobe is complete without the maxi collection. Recently I have seen an abundant amount of maxi dresses wherever I go and I can completely understand why so many women love them. Silk and chiffon are obviously the perfect choice for the warm weather and work beautifully well with tribal print. Very little accessorising is then needed as the vivid prints stand out alone. That's what I really like about maxi dresses, even minimal works. Maxi skirts are also a definite must have on my list, especially the ones that crop at the front. These look great when paired with a vest top, a simple crop tee or if you're really brave, a gorgeous bralet top. Jean Paul Gaultier's Moroccan print inspiration were my season favourites, the bold colours and designs were fantastic, and really give that summer feel. Follow @SheeWrites www.sheewrites.tumblr.com
