A number of people were killed while others were injured when two suicide bombers blew themselves up at a checkpoint in Al Qadisiyah district of Najaf Governorate, local sources and eyewitnesses said on Sunday.

Also, armed men attacked the area and opened fire on civilians.

A number of policemen were moved to hospital for medical treatment, pictures posted on social networks revealed.

All armed men and suicide attackers were killed on the spot, Najaf Governorate Luay AL-Yassiry asserted.
