Iraqi jets have pounded some Daesh sites in Anbar province, killing 15 militants, the Iraqi Defense Ministry said in a statement on Sunday.

The strikes, carried out upon intelligence information, resulted in destroying a Daesh air defense post and another one for making booby-trapped cars in Al Karābilah district in Al Qa'im city in western Iraq, the statement added. 

Meanwhile, Kurdish Peshmerga forces have recaptured two villages in Bashiqa district in Mosul city and began clearing them of explosive devices, the statement read.
