At least three suspected militants were killed and as many wounded in an exchange of fire between security officials and militants in northern Pakistani tribal region bordering Afghanistan on Friday, said officials. The security personnel tried to stop a suspicious vehicle but it did not and its armed occupants opened fire on security forces in Shlobar area of the northern Khyber Agency. The security personnel opened fire in retaliation; killing three suspected militants and wounding three others where two security personnel were also wounded in the clash. The security forces arrested the injured militants. Khyber is part of Pakistan's semi-autonomous tribal belt on the Afghan border facing militants' insurgency and violence. Pakistani fighter jets have pounded the militants' hideouts in Khyber Agency two times in last week to maintain peace as the dialogue with Pakistani Taliban failed.
