Jill Duggar is slowly recovering from son Israel's birth by C-section.
The 23-year-old reality star updated fans on her health in an interview with People published Thursday. Duggar welcomed her firstborn after 70 hours of labor April 6, and told the magazine she and husband Derick Dillard are still adjusting to parenthood.
"I am getting better. I am still recovering. I am trying not to overdo it," she related. "One day I felt really good and I did too much that day and the next day, I paid for it. The pain around my incision depends on what I've done that day and if I've rested enough or not."
"I am so grateful for the help of my family," she shared. "I have had one of my sisters, my mother or Derick's mother here with me most of the time now that Derick has gone back to work. It is really a blessing to have family close by to reach out to."
Duggar and Dillard married in June 2014, and recently returned for season 10 of TLC reality series 19 Kids & Counting. The program follows Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar and their 19 children, and airs Tuesdays at 9 p.m. ET. An episode dedicated to Israel's birth will broadcast May 5.
