Jordanian geologists have discovered huge amounts of phosphate ores in the country's north-east provinces, according to Chairman of Jordan's Geologists Association (JGA) Bahjat Adwan. A survey conducted by JGA estimates the new reserves at about 200 million tons of phosphate worth $30 billion at current world prices,” the JGA Chairman Bahjat said in a statement quoted by the Jeddah-based Arab News. He said the survey covered an area of 250 sq km in north-east Jordan.
