Electricity export has increased by 23 percent in the first nine months of the current Iranian year (started March 21, 1011), thanks to implementation of subsidy reform plan in the country, Energy Ministry announced on Monday. Iran exported over 5,656 gigawatt-hours of electricity to neighboring countries during the same period, showing an increase of 23.13 percent compared to the corresponding period last year. Some 4,631 gigawatt-hours of electricity was exported from the country last year. the Islamic Republic of Iran has energy transactions with several neighboring countries including Armenia, Pakistan, Turkmenistan, Turkey, Azerbaijan, Nakhichevan, Iraq and Afghanistan.
