Iran’s ‘Jamaran’ warship docked Port of Salalah in Oman for the first time, a senior navy commander announced on Monday. Navy\'s Deputy Commander for Operations Rear Admiral Seyed Mahmoud Mousavi said the warship is conducting its first overseas mission. The Navy commander referred to ‘Jamaran’ as the symbol of Iran’s combat power and its scientific and industrial capabilities, adding the destroyer was carrying “a message of peace and friendship” for regional states as well as other countries. The 16th fleet of warship comprising of Jamaran’ warship and Bandar Abbas gunboat launched its mission in international waters on October 8. Jamaran is a 94-meter-long domestically made guided-missile destroyer equipped with torpedoes and is capable of engaging in surface, air, and undersea warfare.
