Minister of Investment and International Cooperation Sahar Nasr on Thursday discussed in a meeting with a high-level mission from the World Bank Group (WB) technical cooperation in improving and developing the investment climate and the business environment in Egypt.
During the meeting, Nasr reviewed the progress made in the “EASE” project, carried out by the Ministry and run by the WB, which aims to enhance the investment atmosphere through simplifying measures related to granting licenses to investors.
Also, the Egyptian minister asserted that the country is keen on facilitating the investment measures and looking forward to making good use of the experience of countries that succeeded in attracting foreign direct investments by managing the investment services effectively.
For its part, the WB mission expressed its willingness to cooperate with the Investment Ministry during the coming phase to provide all financial and technical resources, which could help achieve the goals and aspirations of the Egyptian government to modernize the investment climate and business environment.
This move could contribute to increasing the volume of domestic and foreign investment, raising the growth rate, as well as realizing the sustainable development, the mission said.
