A Greek Socialist deputy defected from the ruling party Tuesday over Prime Minister George Papandreou\'s decision to put last week\'s EU debt deal to a referendum, state television NET reported. The move by former deputy minister Milena Apostolaki, 46, reduced the government\'s majority to 152 deputies in the 300-seat parliament. Announcing her decision to turn independent MP, Apostolaki said the referendum was a \"deeply divisive procedure,\" NET said.
