Customs agents have destroyed expired cleaning agents and cigarettes in the southern West Bank, the director of the customs authority said Wednesday. Fadi Abu al-Qarn listed the goods as 2,000 boxes, 48 expired cleaning products, 16 sacks of foreign cigarettes, and 220 plastic toy guns which have been deemed dangerous. Authorities also destroyed 36 meters of glass made in settlements and 50 kg of expired food. Al-Qarn reiterated that the PA would not tolerate the import or sale of products which could harm the health and safety of the community. Officers are authorized to seize, confiscate and destroy such products as well as arrest suspected offenders, he said. “We are ready to do that for the safety and health of the people,” he said.
