Taiwan had recorded foreign exchange reserve of CNY 394.23 billion by the end of August 2012, rising USD 3.12 billion from a month earlier, lower than the figures recorded by Mainland China, Japan and Russia and ranking number four worldwide, Xinhua news agency has reported. Local government pointed out that the growth of foreign exchange reserve comes from investment proceeds and currency appreciation to US dollars.
