Gold slipped for the first time in six trading sessions, losing $1.20 to reach $1,730.60 per troy ounce. Silver dropped 10 cents to reach $33.52 per troy ounce. In after-hours trading, the euro rose to $1.2765 from $1.2759. The U.S. dollar fell to 78.20 yen from 78.28 yen. The U.S. dollar fell to 0.9773 Canadian from 0.9776. The British pound rose to $1.5994 from $1.5989.
