European stock markets closed lower on Monday, with London\'s FTSE-100 index of top companies down 0.47 percent at 5,519.04 points. In Paris, the CAC 40 lost 1.28 percent to 3,108.95 points and in Frankfurt the DAX 30 dropped 1.19 percent to 5,985.02 points.
